Sir John Franklin (SJF) was built back in 1849 by James Whittaker, and was the leading Hotel in Kapunda in its time. The town Kapunda was very well known for it’s successful copper mining. The Hotel was named after the Arctic explorer and Tasmanian Governor, Sir John Franklin.
Facilities
The Sir John Franklin Hotel is one of Kapunda’s truly historic buildings, dating back to 1849. Under new management, this old world ‘local’ is being continuously upgraded through 2022 and ‘23.
